Concept - Design Choices
Concept
The idea behind this project is that we often see parents letting their children enjoy digital content passively and without any control: as the son of two people who have contributed to the education and entertainment of many children, I wanted to create something that not only triggers a kid's curiosity, but also that is instructive.
Furthermore, I wanted to use a technology that allows the kid to do some physical actions, instead of simply interact with a screen: the marker-based Augmented Reality seemed to be the right choice.
Design Choices
I just wanted to build the app with an high level of Scalability: in this way it's possible to define N subjects, each of which can offer M topics with their own tutorials and minigames. Basically, I decided to implement two types of interactions:
- Direct interaction ( by moving the cards );
- Mediated interaction ( though the screen );
Contents based on Direct Interaction conceptually consist in moving and/or rearranging cards according to some logic.
I decided to use a vively and coloured Aesthetic (because of the target), so I designed every asset and sprite personally.
Mascotte moodboard
The version I released is just a Vertical Slice, so I implemented just a few topics of the subject "Arithmetic".
